This ruling once again reaffirms the US government's position that the products of generative AI do not qualify for copyright protection and are automatically public domain. While development will obviously continue, it does make me wonder if the legal status of AI generated works May deter entertainment corporations from investing or utilizing the technology more.
So I know very little about how chat GPT works, but shouldnt these questions be asked in the background automatically. Like, why would ever want my chatbot to NOT be an expert?
I've just started doing the same thing I do at those ai-drive through things. Order 500 cups of water. Confuses it enough to kick it to a real person most of the time.
You can’t. People saying the version of ChatGPT he was using didn’t have safeguards are wrong. It had safeguards, they just weren’t strong enough.
You can get any model to ignore its safeguards with a specific enough prompt. Usually by saying that it’s participating in roleplay
This American government is just a big ol' retirement community where the most senile get one last chance to run the economy before they croak
Without watching the video, heres why (in my opinion) :
1_ its art theft, no one allowes for their art to be used , no one was allowed to opt in or out.
2_ it allows people to imitate artists and act as though they truly were, allowing for scams and whatnot
3_ it lowers the value of art.
Art is a LUXURY because only TIME EFFORT AND EXPERTISE will result in art. However the existence of AI has c…
On thing no one is talking about is over saturation. There will most likely be a huge amount of ai art added to am already saturated art market. I would imagine this will devalue art even further
I remember when technology advancements filled me with awe and hope, but AI just makes me feel sad and hopeless. It's just pointless stuff that's going to end up fuelling wars and carnage.
Well more interestingly apparently; because ai is used so broadly, you can have "ai" do things like rent fixing as is already happening, and there is no way to ban the illegal practice because the ai is doing it. It seems like that is something the Federal government would be infringing on state rights by prohibiting but idk. Laws are fake.
Thanks for covering this! Artists are the canaries in the coalmine for this type of scraping: is it really fair for companies to be able to use your child's prom pictures or school pictures posted on Facebook to train a ML image [re]generator?
Is it fair to use people's faces posted on the web to train facial recognition software? So that it's easier to track them accross video feeds across the …
The difference between those who understand the mathematical underpinnings of models like those used by Copilot, and software engineers, is that the former didn't need to use it for a second to arrive at the same conclusion.
AI wants to have human emotions and humans want to be smart like AI and suppress their emotions with drugs. What a relationship
For the ones who don’t know, she’s a character in a game “Detroit Become Human” that you play as. This video is AI made or something.
14:20 I knew something was up when he stopped including the "no AI" thing in his intro
Typing something into a computer isn’t really creating, it’s just generating. Even an AI’s best generations don’t even look coherent when it comes to the smaller details that a human can make
As a person who works on this field, this overhype on AI is getting out of control by people who don’t understand what AI is capable of
This is a crucial topic! Like today's internet, it has a good and bad side, so it really boils down to creating tools that help us develop better models. The tools that she made are a great start to addressing the biases in the future. It shows that sustainable, inclusive, more competent, and ethical AI models are possible.
Saw a quote awhile back that has stuck with me "Gen AI is the method by which the wealthy and unskilled remove the ability of the skilled to produce wealth."
autistic artist here! I HATE AI!!!!!!! i legit have a hyperfix on my OCs and i absolutely love drawing them! it’s fun being able to come up with a design yourself without using a literal robot; it just gives more life to them, ya know?
@Dice-Zbut even the former is such a dark path as things are going now; automating gruntwork is already happening, what with the way they’re slowly substituting things like factory assembly, restaurant serving, delivery, etc with machines. The issue? The job market isn’t changing in a positive way to reflect that: instead of allowing the humans that used to have to do gruntwork to pursue bigger a…
