Told an ai stan that writing prompts will be done by ai and they fumed pretty hard that their "job" was being unfairly ripped away from them
Ignoring the “developing world” snafu, I’m glad to hear this. Hopefully they will increase the minimum wage in the near future as well. I’m tired of watching my fiancée and my friends struggle to make ends meet even while working 65+ hours a week.
Yeah they won't even show up to my store when we call with actual emergencies. Or if they do, it's like 45 minutes later. We've literally been put on automatic hold after the 911 call rings ~4 times, waited over 10 minutes, hung up, and they finally called back over an hour later. No, we don't still need you. The guy we kicked out who was threatening us with physical violence and we wanted legall…
I’ve known about the culture there since I heard about them requiring shutter sounds on [phones](https://www.tokyoweekender.com/japan-life/news-and-opinion/why-you-cant-disable-the-shutter-sound-on-japanese-phones/) because of pervs
The people most hyped for AI are the ones who aren't using it to build enterprise software. The higher ups use it generate an email and a slideshow then think AI can do anything. My company asks us to experiment and "if it breaks things that's okay." Except I'm pretty sure if this causes me to miss a deadline it suddenly won't be okay anymore. So I use it for boilerplate code, unit tests, code re…
I think AI should be embraced fully just bought more of NVIDIA stock a few minutes ago because they have seen the future and have plans to get into the AI world. Tying up money due to an apocalyptic stock market crash is not a smart move my advice will be to invest in other AI stocks. Life is a risk and it's better to take risks than to do nothing, you can't always expect to make huge profits all…
As a programmer and software developer myself I honestly sees more use of generative Ai /AI in industry, science, and analysis of things like weather patterns, scanning for sicknesses to make early diagnosis and other similar fields than in art. Art is such a human thing and that part of our life don't need to be automated. What needs automation to improve it is medicine, scinece, and services su…
Something is off with the mom. I get the impression she doesn't want to take any accoutnabilty in her son's depression and is blaming the chatbot for not being a good enough friend and stopping him .
California lawmakers are currently trying to pass legislation regulating driverless trucks AND regular vehicles being used for shipping items. Governor Newsom has vetoed many iterations of this bill in the past. If you live in California, please call and email your state legislators to pass AB33!!
We need to put regulations on this technology before it is too late.
2025 situation is so painful and stressful. Imagine what AI will do after 50 years?💀
Basically, AI is going to be a nightmare for introverts in the job market if the most insulated jobs are heavy on human interaction.
As a guy getting into CS and wanting to create an AI that fixes bugs. I am fucked up
Nah, I used chatgpt to write a zombie apocalypse story, and it wasn't able to write a violent story, so it ended with nobody dying and the survivors teaming up with the zombies to "build a better future together with peace and prosperity for all mankind, womankind, othergenderkind (it literally said that) and zombiekind.
GrumpDog would he? I don't know your father but if I, as an artist and writer, if I suddenly became more disabled than I already am, I'd find another way to create, not drop that task on a computer.
I feel no joy asking an algorithm to do my hobby for me
Did anyone actually read this fucking article?
>Earth Alliance said Tuesday it will provide grants, educational opportunities and fund campaigns and films, as well as work with grassroots organizations and individuals in places most affected by biodiversity loss and climate change.
Nothing described here will directly reduce carbon emissions. This is literal make work awareness raising. You …
It's surprising how ignorant this is. Facial recognition exists and has existed for decades. You can't uninvent it. You can't pretend technology that has been created doesn't exist in a state other than a packaged product. You also can't pretend like digital tools won't be disseminated regardless of illegality. The reality is that there are probably tons of good uses for facial recognition that …
For what it's worth, I recently had some serious medical issues and dumped the raw medical report from the imaging tech into chat GPT. It did an amazing job answering all of my questions, and it's answers matched up with what I got from my doctor a day later.
The thing that really makes chat GPT awesome with medical stuff is that you can waste its time for as long as you want and ask any questio…
I think its also because people find it easier to believe ChatGPT is sentient. It's easier to talk to ai than it is to talk to a real human.
Some people do use ChatGPT as a therapist. Or as a friend to confide in, so its easy to anthropomorphize because you gain a connection.
Suicide as a solution to feeling lonely is the most AI conclusion ever. Can't be lonely if you're dead, so problem solved?
This is the issue with AI being used for companionship or therapy. I'm interested to see what issues arise when they allow porn. I can see people totally checking out of life for that.
The article says that Alphabet (Google's post-hoc parent company) "will invest $10 billion in AI startup Anthropic, with another $30 billion **potentially** to follow" (emphasis added). It kinda sounds like they intentionally muddied the waters so that they'd get a 4× larger number in headlines like this one.
