AI scientist: "this could destroy us!"
Tech corporations: "Yeah but think about the money we'll make BABY! 🍾 🥂 😎
People don’t need jobs, they need food, housing, education, health care. The question isn’t “if everything is automated, what jobs will people do?”, it’s what resources will they have. The people doing this don’t think we deserve anything.
The robot: I had enough of this shit, work work no coffee or lunch breaks not even a cigarettes break 😅
If 99% of people are unemployed… who will have money to pay for the services and products made by ai??
Also airplane autopilot is not what people think of autopilot
AP will happily get you killed. You engage AP in situations where it can be used, depending on how advanced it is, it will self disengage if traffic is too close.
In short, airplane AP is closer to cruise control with lane assist than what people think of autopilot. It's not meant to navigate complex situations, it's meant to get you …
@blackjackveteranI’m right there. How could we give an AI “real sensation”? What hardware or software could do that?
If you had to make a creature right now that would survive, would you give it a system for feeling pain, or just tell it to tell itself it is suffering pain?
And I think that’s what we are doing essentially. Pretending to ourselves that we feel stuff.
Either way, we will neve…
> 'Discrimination on nationality alone is forbidden under human rights law'
I wonder why Visas and even further screening (biometrics applications) exist then
Or more create their own bots to mine the content for their own ai models
Osama absolutely won. We destroyed our fundamental freedoms for the "safety" of a surveillance state
People are gonna realize that technology and AI was the worst mistake we ever made.
yeah some are hit or miss, but Winston AI’s been one of the more reliable ones from what I’ve used
My brother is a traditional artist that was suddenly put into a wheel chair, and he couldn’t walk or do anything pretty much without getting exhausted, but even as this happened, he continued to make beautiful art with pen and paper. What do they mean by ai is good for the disabled?! This guy, who is my brother, has improved in his art more and faster than I had ever seen him improve. He loves dr…
I suppose it'll be a bit like when libraries and larger codebases came along; suddenly you didn't get your hands dirty flipping bits all day, you just imported a library or 2 and glued together a bunch of functions from within. Maybe the job of the dev for now will be breaking the task into sections that AI can build, then adding the glue, until the sections get large enough that no glue is requi…
The UK's Thatcher and the US' Reagan is the point in time when many of today's income inequality problems can be traced back to.
China is out-science-ing the US and providing leadership. If this isn't a wake up call for Americans that they're in decline, I don't know what is.
All of the comments in this are so defeated. Go outside, people. The sun is still shining, society hasn't collapsed. Mask up if you want but damn, the world isn't ending.
The boolean search things have been broken for a few months now because Google doesn't search what you type. It has an AI retype your search for you several times and most of its retyping attempts are irrelevant.
14:12 just today I watched a video from a disabled artist whose book was basically ripped off by some random ai guy and it really pissed me off 😭
He has lost about 95% of his vision but is still really passionate about art and making art and uses the advantages of using a tablet to help him work around his limited sight (zooming in and out and turning up the brightness) and he’s made a few child…
No divorce settlement, no child support, no losing 50% of what you worked for, no guy friends, no girls night out, no drama involving the police
Guys, I’m a software engineer. DO NOT use AI for therapy. The panic over this is not the same thing as when they said video games were dangerous. These are language algorithms that are designed to be so convincing that your brain literally processes interactions with them to be as real as those with human beings. You are not immune to being influenced emotionally by them even if you logically kno…
