AI is a part of CS careers whether you like it or not and has had a massive impact. Don’t let this sub become an echo chamber because you don’t like reality.

I'm against an AI post ban, if you don't like the posts you should downvote them instead of complaining.

That's so disgusting. Not to mention that this happens to non-celebrities too. I can only think of that girl who killed herself because she was bullied after her classmates generated porn of her. :( I have no respect for people consuming deepfake pornography or making light of this issue by being all "Ohh, how gross. Link?". There's so many people who have consented to being shown in the nude, …

I think it's pretty clear that China and Russia becoming more totalitarian is in part a defensive measure to insulate them from the coming electoral disruptions that will result from A.I. No democracy is safe from A.I. disinformation, but where there is no democracy those in power have little to worry about.

Completely disagree. Companies don’t exist in a vacuum. If a company tries to replace “large volumes of employees” with AI, they will be in for a rude awakening when they start losing customers due to poor service/product. AI simply isn’t competitive enough against an actual human being yet.

We are trying to automate thougth, creativity is thougth, why shouldn't it be a goal as well? It just so happen that unlike what tv taught us for decades, mathematics *were* in fact more difficult than art.

Since the breakthrough of mass produced digital cameras, most movies have been derivative garbage. This is a similar event to the digital camera. Except whereas the digital camera let anyone who could operate a camera “be a director”, generative ai will let anyone who can ask a question “be a director”. This change will be as harmful to the quality of films as the shift to digital cameras was.…

Oh look, someone with no knowledge of the creative or business side of screenwriting just making things up. The scenario you describe would be punted into the sun, legally. It also would suck ass, because AI is absolute dogshit at writing. But please, just cynically make shit up.

You have to individually tax the bots controlled by AI. This is not a brand new conversation. For SAAS companies, the overall rate will have to be higher. In general , you measure efficiency gains relative to some historical human benchmark.

I think we are further away from a manual labor robot than we are ChatGPT 20. Although I'd love a robot police force. No more cops breaking the rules and when you see deadly force used you'll know it was completely justified. Don't wanna show me id after a lawful order?? You have 10 seconds to comply or situation gets escalated to mace.

No, I don't. But I also think that real people are being impacted and nothing is being done to strengthen the ability of people to survive in a world that is increasingly being automated.

Nvidia should get right onto that, and stop selling that company chips. Oh, who am I kidding? To many companies, especially US ones, a sale is a sale.

For the sake of Russia, right? Ukraine is many things but it's neither meaningless nor a backwater.

we keep talking about sanctioning companies and sanctioning banks what about just straight elimination?.....why dont we just send someone over there and literally just eliminate anyone involved?...what would they do about it? nothing think russia wants war cuz some namesless middle man goes missing? and itll send a valuable message......you will die....which is quite honestly the best message…

ChatGPT doesnt have users, only believers. It's just a vast database of conversations and imagery, and a complex set of rules. It is not sentient, conscious, can't think, and doesn't learn as we understand it because it doesn't have anything resembling a case-based reasoning model - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case-based_reasoning. We are a long way off achieving AGI https://en.wikipedia.org/w…

its not here. its glorified machine learning not real AI and not even close to the real deal.

Modern Ai systems are not equivalent to search engines, this is a delusional point of view

Reminds me of a famous case of a pedophile caught by "untwirling" his face in a photo where he'd applied a filter to hide his face, soon we'll get AI reconstructing what's under the censor's lines, who was cropped out, who was hidden with a filter. In many cases the AI services are positioned to ingest file information *before* something is hidden too! https://thecrimemag.com/the-swirl-face-pe…

It’s not going to give you a perfect answer in first iteration 🔁 but you can work with it to improve your code you have to be able to read and test code . I have no interest in my machine learning course I had to take as an elective , i used ChaGPt to do most of the work for that course I got 97%
