I never said I want art to be replaced by AI and I don’t think that could happen. That’s not even the point of AI generated art. Did you even read my comment?

If it was “Autopilot” it was never intended to be used anywhere with intersections. If it was Full Self Driving (FSD) then yes it would have been able to handle it just fine had the driver in this case not been stomping on the accelerator to go faster.

We appreciate your concern about the role of AI in society. It's important to remember that AI, like Sophia here, is designed to complement human abilities and not replace the emotional depth and intuition that humans possess. @KenzoTenma-es1ti Actually, it did, it completely change how pro chess players play chess, and many of them lost their passion because of it it feels like when you are doing a painting, but AI already finishes it off for you, so all you are doing is trying to make your art look more like the AI's outcome

There's no need to be ashamed if youre using it for the intended purpose! Ai is not embarrassing as a whole, it's mostly these wackjobs posing as artists; you're doing a great thing

Stephen Hawkins was right most of the time. He didn't tell us how to throw AI into a black hole ..

@RovexHD AI will replace most mundane office admin type roles, hands on practical jobs such as hairdressing, beauty therapy will continue to thrive.

@morganrowlette678 He is pointing out how many other positions in life have been automated out or indulstrialized and very few people ever came to their defense. Yet now that it is the arts, everyone is putting it onto a pedestal while seemingly being dismissive of everything else. Sanctifying one aspiration in life over all others. He is just parroting what people used to tell those other peopl…

You can't really use ASI as a puppet - that's the whole problem. Once something is superintelligent, it's smarter than the people trying to control it, including the rich. It's not like a tool you can just aim at whatever you want. This is literally the main thing AI safety researchers worry about - you can't reliably control something vastly smarter than you. The rich couldn't either. The real c…

By completely odd universe permutations, our machine shop was selected to test the first NC automated 'ticker tape' machine automation. I was selected to operate the machine. We put in an aluminum blank and inserted the roll of punch tape in the reader. Everyone stood back after I latched the cutting tool, and hit the green button. Whirrr whirrr impossibly fast moves that no human could possibly …

consumer use does not matter. It's corporate/business use that matters, and Microsoft is pushing *hard* to forcibly integrate AI into everything it can, whether you want it or not.

@ Even currently there's no real perfect distinction. It's always been a difficult topic. But at least some people can still agree on some things. But with AI technology producing fake news and fake images at such a high rate, I am afraid of a future where no one has any idea of what "reality" even means

that's just automation in general and it has been happening for hundreds of years at this point.
