@jeremymcmahon9546 "... if you think AI isn't going to have profound effects..." I think that's my point exactly. There are huge negative impacts today on water/power/environment/capital. As the other person noted, they're seeking "the grail" and will invest anything to achieve it. The opportunity costs of us not investing in other things (solar production/adoption, geothermal base load, mass transit, upgrading insulation, heating/cooling tech) are all being ignored while assuming that AI will one day solve those problems (at another undetermined cost).
