Unfortunately for you we can't lose control because we don't have it in the first place.
Artificial intelligence and neural networks don't work like regular programs. Explained in very very simple terms, we don't program AIs like a videgame or an app, we make the structure and they program themselves through training with massive amounts of data. They configure themselves, and more and more we don't understand how they work. The more advanced we make them the less we understand how they work. We don't have that control.
And also, I'm sorry to break this to you John, but AI as it stands today is already exceeding humans. For example, the last version of ChatGPT can already pass bar exams from law and business schools on the top 10%.
And if you've been following this topic at all you'll know that the biggest companies have just started a massive AI race which has no intent on stopping.
