I disagree with that. If a human painter is really good and can make very high quality art without print in as much effort as someone else, their work doesn't lack soul as a result.
The soul comes from intentionality. When you make something by hand, you put every line where it is. You choose every color. You make every part of it look the way you want it to because you have some vision you are trying to realize. That is the soul. The fact that people can look at it and wonder "Why is it like this?"
AI generated works can be nice to look at, but they lack meaning.
