There are definitely data centers using water in the most wasteful ways. Some have the loop type system, but I believe more are wasting precious water.
There needs to be strict regulations on this and many more guardrails, but it may be too late. Trump is allowing these guys to do whatever they want and threatened any states who want regulations for at least the next 10 years! There would have to be major pushback from millions of US citizens, and too many people aren’t paying attention to these extremely consequential changes happening without our permission. There needed to be democratic thoughtful discussions on this topic. I am totally and completely on board with pushing back!!
