The idea is that you pay someone half the salary of a current driver, to just ride along & act as a co-pilot & last mile driver. Resets the market, the pay & the skills required of the human co-pilot; the co-pilot makes like $50k instead of a current driver making $100k. Slash the "driver" cost in half by using AI autopilot to drive, slash the fuel costs in half by using batteries & electric motors instead of fuel...this is where the trucking industry is heading.
Watch JRE #1245, they've been projecting this for 4 years already...it's just coming closer to reality now.
