Artist here. I made the “switch” to AI, so to say. The AI programs I use are a starting point in some sense, sometimes they get me closer to the finish but other times I like to put in more of my touch. Rotoscoping (where you have to isolate a moving subject in a video from the background) used to be an hours long process, if I was lucky. Now it can be done is less than a minute. For a lot of commissioned pieces, I’ll use the wonderful AI tools. For my own enjoyment on a carefree morning, I’ll break out a pen and paper. I liken the process to hiking.
