This all comes with time. However, by the time AI doom is taken seriously, it’s possibly too late. This is the crux of the doom argument for me, along with the idea that alignment itself may be a red herring (it’s feasible that the control problem is impossible).
I’m sure you can understand the anxiety and attempts by doomers to reconcile this idea with the public.
