I have come to the conclusion that there is no deterministic system.
There are some quasi-deterministic ones, and people (including me) are bad at getting very high probabilities, in particular how deeply uncommon the opposite is, even in a whole lifetime.
2 + 2 = 4 is highly probable, but also not deterministic. The reason is that 2 + 2 = 4 has its actualisation always in physical things like brains or computers who fail from time to time. Possible reasons: drunk, coding error, dementia, computer virus and so on.
So a highly propable output with high quality training data and a low temperature is already close to useful outcome in cases where it's about "simple" pattern replay. Which has a lot of use cases. But surely LLM are not that smart as the sellers want to tell, there is no reasoning or chain of thought.
