He and I definitely agreed on something; which was we should’ve unified globally before we tried to develop a super intelligence that could overpower us as a species. We should have unified under common laws practices, culture, and understanding so that we could at least have a united front against whatever AI is developed or whatever develops from AI. We don’t know what comes after it. The scariest allegory I heard was: “If you want to know what it’s like to not be the smartest animal in the room, ask a chicken. What are we to a chicken? The guy on this particular show, saying that he’s certain that they can solve it if we invest, will be saying things like “Well, I guess we didn’t invest enough,” when it suddenly doesn’t seem solvable….. but in the meantime, he’ll keep asking you for your money.
