@ArtsySurvivor yeah I’m not going to sit here and say the art community is perfect. It’s not. You go to art school and you realise that the people who were bullied for liking art become bullies because they’re the standard now. A lot of artists are not good people. But a lot of these AI artists have also spent their time bullying, annoying and hating on artists who actually are minding their own business and making stuff they like, by taking their work without consent and saying they improved it by running it through ChatGPT. You can’t tell me that isn’t jealousy. Otherwise, what’s to improve? Why even try? These people are actively trying to devalue years and years of dedication and commitment to art. I will not stand silently and let them. That is all. I can admit very openly that you don’t have to be good to be an artist. But you at least have to try. You have to make the effort, commit to getting better, learning and making it a skill. I sound like a boomer when I say there are no shortcuts, but it’s true. And if you’re getting hate for bad art, ignore them. I ignored it for years. You either succumb to peer pressure and become just like the others, or you grow out of it and become someone amazing. Art community isn’t changing, unfortunate as that is. But we can join them or be better.
