Fellow translator from Czechia, hello! 🙂 💙 I laughed when the MIT expert said "people don't change professions". I'm a summa cum laude graduate of theoretical linguistics and three languages. Used to do translations for TVs, NATO, train manufacturing and international investigations of war crimes. Losing my profession was heart-breaking. Like suddenly becoming a 95-year-old without grandchildren. Like 20 years of your life went out the chimney. Nobody needs you.
So I'm re-training to become a gardener. I figured, AI won't take gardening from me. I'm 42 and I just couldn't go through that process of losing my profession again 😢
