Sounds good on paper but any country that doesn't do that will have a major economic advantage. Regardless of that, some kind of universal system that protects everyone will be needed, maybe UBI or something else, without it, I think it will lead to revolution as people can't find work, so the smart thing to do is for governments to react and do the changes needed before things get out of hand, I think European countries will react better on that because of the social system whereas I think the US will let things get worse before it gets to breaking point before real change happens. Some people will say, how do we pay for UBI and other social programs, simply, AI and robotics is going to create an immense amount of wealth in the system, it's just a matter of where governments direct that wealth, in the US, I expect the government will do a poor job whereas in Europe, governments will likely step in to distribute the wealth AI creates, so the US will likely let things get out of hand whereas I doubt European governments will, mainly because of the structure of the two systems are very different from each other, not to mention the mindset of the people which will cause a lot of problems for the US to do any major reforms in those areas whereas Europeans more or less have the system in place with its social programs, it's just a matter of expanding them, which AI and robotics will give the resources to do, so think of it as big government that's willing to intervene in the system compared to small government that has little regulation and allows corporations to do what they want, those two defining systems are likely to have two major different outcomes and it doesn't look good for the US, at least until things get so bad that it leads to revolution and the US ends up adoption a system more in line with European countries.
