ai could be useful as you said, it could be used as reference for the artist to take inspiration from. the problem being how unethical ai is for artists, with artists being taken advantage of and their legal rights being ignored to mass produce these ai images. Ai has no place in the art community in the way it functions. if ai was trained off of consenting artists works, there would be no problem.
