If the head of a marketing department gives the graphic design team a set of things he wants for a new advertising campaign, and every time they produce something, he gives them feedback and they make changes until the marketing head is happy with it, who’s the artist? It’s the graphic design team, not the head of marketing. AI “artists” aren’t acting like artists, they’re acting like producers. They’re not looking for easier ways to be artists, they’re looking for a way to feel like they’ve got artists laboring under them to produce what they want.
