@someonesurviving Offended? More PO'd. During lockdown I ended up wasting about a year trying to get some "Halp me! I need commissions!" so called "Artists" to do work for a TTRPG I was developing. NOT as charity but willing to pay good $ for it. On top of all the issues I mentioned above which I'm sure you didn't read - the TIME wasted being ghosted, ignored, strung on I could have done the requested art myself. I'm an amateur too (illustration) and was trying to save TIME. That is the #1 reason people hire other people, to save TIME.... How silly of me to think - I do like that person's style, so I'll gladly pay $ for images for my RPG project since I don't have ----hours or want to spend the time overworking something myself. And again they had a gaggle of reasons - from only wanting to be paid top $ for doing stuff they'd have done more or less themselves at a snail's pace to NOT being qualified to ask for any commissions to being con-artists using other's work (nearly lost $ there but did my homework) to just being afraid a big company would blacklist them. Big companies are using AI now, "Bruh" or whatever...they went for two in bush and dropped Bird in hand. So I use AI for stuff most REFUSED; - drawing backgrounds, painting backgrounds. Thus my message is: Dare call yourself a "Pro" - PRACTICE and BE a Pro including promptly doing stuff you might not have done on your own for fun... AND - LLLLuurrrn tu do BACKGROUNDS - no looking in Google and Clipart factories to find something to apply a Photoshop Painter filter then charge like you did every leaf on every tree does NOT count. AND - LLLuurn to draw with paper, pencil, paints - helps know what you are doing and how much tech you rely on.
