But maybe Roger is putting the point where it should not be. Really nobody in the AI-business cares for "consciousness" and users of it just want practical tools. If a man like Denett brings up the turing-test it is to make a point that it does not matter wheather or not something is consciouess or not (in this case: not) if the outwards behaviour is of the kind that we would suppose only consciousness could produce.
