Well not only chatGPT there is also alphafold which came from alphaGo, it figured out how to play Go by playing games against mutated versions of itself. Imagine changing the program so that instead of doing Go it desigend a economical way of building optical computers (1 million times faster than silicon computers at less energy), mutating programs, or building a replicator that could grow exponentially.
