@kov_nyxx that's what I'm saying. I was thinking AI could help me visualize more specific things, like an oc in a certain outfit or in a certain style, or magic up some design based on concepts I had. Especially since it was difficult to find references for specific demographics, like super dark skin, certain nose types, certain body types, etc. Before I was spending a lot of money for commissions that took months to come through, that I usually ended up hating anyways (I've only liked the result of 1 commission, but I was also learning to better assess how well an artstyle matched what I wanted). It's not that I didn't think to use other things, I had been using other things and it just wasn't working out-- I was also struggling creatively bc of shifts in my life and career and intense chronic stress and was starting to overthink my art as well and starting to get lost in perfectionism. Those were all the benefits it was claiming to have, but it really was just copy pasting specific references for specific prompts like a muddy calculator. Couldn't seem to fathom a "seductive" male character and kept generating women. Kept using the same base for a anthropormorphic creature design no matter what other details I specified. I'd seen some other people supposedly use AI to make some neat stuff (They were selling designs), so I gave it a shot. but that was when it had just popped up on the platform, and after a little bit I also noticed a lot of their designs were slight variations of the same thing. Overall my point is that It's not even good for references like people try to say to keep its use in art acceptable. Even if its more acceptable to generate a reference, it's still not practical to use it over literally anything else.
