@bobbymcjoey9432 You say AI doesn’t have goals, but that depends entirely on how you define ‘goal.’
Humans act based on information processed by their brains. ANNs do the same—just with different architecture. If you set an ANN a task and it behaves in a way that consistently achieves it, denying it has a goal is more about semantics than substance.
Free will has no scientific basis. So if human goals are just emergent patterns from causal systems, why treat AI any differently?
The car analogy fails because cars don’t process information in complex, adaptive ways. ANNs do. That’s why they deserve a more nuanced framing.
