Frontier AI labs are explicitly trying to develop AIs that are broadly more capable than humans, which they do not know how to control. Certainly, for AIs just below that level of capability, publishing the model weights is reckless. But for broadly superhuman AIs, their very existence threatens the existence of humanity.
Why are we trying so hard to relinquish all agency any human has in the world to psychopathic machines? We are about to birth a demon which will consume us and everything we value. No one will attend our funerals, and no one will weep for the barren Earth.
