It's really disappointing to hear the "they'll make new jobs" line. No, you've created a machine that can even do those new jobs better than I can.
The only jobs that will be left are ones that are beneath the value of having a machine do it. Stacking shelves and picking strawberries comes to mind. Sure a machine *could* do it, but would you rather automate a highly paid programmer or a minimum wage fruit picker?
