A persons idea is still there idea. Even if the end result isn't from their handiwork in the same way.
Do a lot of people have the same ideas? 100% But that happens even in the artsphere outside of AI.
I think creativity will actually boost when people think that what's in their head won't take 10 dedicated years of trying and failing to understand. Also, I've seen plenty of cases where AI usage has actually encouraged people to want to understand more in order to get the result they want, where as prior, the art/creative world has made them feel like they aren't welcome or given them the "in just 10 short years and investment of x product that's a bit pricey, but you're worth it, you too can make this level of art work"
There is also a massive drain when it comes to monetary motivation. If the goal is become artist/entertainer/media etc because you might make bank, two things happen. Overflood of people trying to make it - See YouTube/Instagram/TikTok and slop content that isn't AI, but just people doing bare minimum to try to please the populace with lowest common denominator, determined by an algorithm trained to recognize patterns in that same thing. AI makes it easier to make slop content, but the content itself is still thought of by people.
If people are welcome to use some free or local generator to make a crazy piece that they never thought they could make, they can feel more motivated and creative to get what they want out of it with out the bar of needing to learn everything from scratch unless they want to and have time/resources.
Think of it like when you're a kid and you use coloring books. Or other more accessible forms for practicing specific ideas in creativity.
Also, art today often uses a ton of what were demonized and judged as cheating short cuts. No one will ever convince me that digital art is just as hard (or time consuming) as traditional and no one will convince me that traditional isn't easier than doing everything from scratch like making your own paints or pencils to truly have extreme fine control on the end product. We all outsource some aspect to another leg of the technical process to make anything. And I've done both. But I also contest that difficulty of something doesn't determine it's value. And we're very strange in society for associating hard work with value. A child who spends hours to make a stick figure drawing to the best of their ability isn't worth any less than someone who's had the time, energy, resources and practice to make something technically far more advanced, but due to their backlog of practice, it took them only a few minutes. Let alone people who have innate talent and get things right off the bat and put very little effort because what they make happens to sell anyway due to being aesthetically appealing.
I'd also never say someone who paints figurines that they buy or someone who writes lyrics, but not music isn't a creative or worth less than the making of the figures or the music that supports the lyrics. Neither can I say someone who thinks of a something novel or cool, even if done already idea is given in prompt format isn't creative.
The creative drain will come because people will do bare minimum because it's what they're motivated to do. You already see this in the plethora of crappy artworks, films, songs and entertainment avenues that make bank. Ai makes it easier to pump out garbage because people are motivated to make garbage. SovietWomble actually did a great rant about this on reddit, which was about the fear of accepting mediocrity as the norm, when it should be the less common case. We should always push for better, not only in the art world, but in everything. Mediocrity and complacency is stagnation and that's the death of a species just as much as it's the death of creativity.
If you gave a powerful AI generator to someone as a gift, say a dedicated computer just for the tasks and said with it they can create any song, story, art, film they want, but they can never sell it, only share it for free, then the motivation is make something you'd want to see. Something you are interested in making. Lower the bar for entry on making creative works and people will make them. A huge rise in art overall, way before AI became ubiquitous, was due to access to supplies. Pen, paper, pencil, free art classes, information shared. The more something is kept behind paywall, culture or resource, the less of it will be made.
Will a lot of weird shiz be made too? 100%. But that happens anyway. Some people have weird imaginations, or expressing dark messed up things is a way to process fear or safe exploration for something that otherwise would be harmful.
Most people will be making things because they themselves would want to see it. Like rich people who invest in making their own game because they're sick of all the crappy ones. It's the do it yourself ideation, but with a much lower bar to entry. And people trying to make bank with it don't realize that the only ones who make money in a gold rush are the shovel sellers. Those offering use of AI services right now, which are often in the red trying to get their foot in the door. Open source and tech advancement will make it more common to just do a thing yourself.
This will tank industries in entertainment and art and effectively make most pieces indie. Because, why pay for something you can do yourself? That you can customize to your liking and also see works from others imaginations for free because so many people will share things because that is the creative part of the human spirit. Sharing how we feel, what we perceive, think about or design in our minds, regardless of the tools we use to express that.
