In my opinion it even hinders human evolution. Global investment in AI is reaching 100 billion USD. Just imagine if instead of wasting all this money on vanity toys, which is as much as the GDP of some nations, this money was instead used for medicine research.
For instance, there is an attempt to heal and completely erase most forms of deafness, by regenerating hearing cells in the cochlea of people. They are lacking funds. All that while according to the WHO, 1.5 billion people live with some form of hearing loss, and 430 million of them have disabling hearing loss. How is these people remaining in this predicament, not allowing them to flourish, benefiting humanity, but AI promotes so called human evolution???
