The software overrode the electronic braking that should have occured, it did not cut off the acceleration so they say. The driver could have manually braked the car to a stop, that is not under contention. They are saying the car surged on its own and there was a lot of software failures such as the braking becoming harder to operate because of the torque of the vehicle, the Automatic emergency braking not turning on, the design of the vehicle that the door opener fails when the battery goes off and there is no exterma; manual door lock override etc. Seems like this will be settled.
