When you say super inteligence is sci-fi, you mean it's not possible or it's not going to happen in our lifetimes? There is no reason to think it's impossible unless our brains are doing something supernatural that simply cannot be replicated within the rules of this universe for some unknown reason. The answer to when it will happen is - no one really knows. It might not be part of this LLM craze, but it will probably happen eventualy. Maybe in 20 years, maybe in 200, but it's probably not sci-fi. Or at least there is no reason to think that at this point.
