That’s the mistake people keep making - treating modern AI as if it’s just a glorified search engine. Search retrieves. LLMs generate. They don’t look things up; they model patterns, relationships, abstractions, and latent structure. That’s why they can produce answers to things that have never been written anywhere. Calling it ‘just an encyclopedia’ is like calling a calculator ‘just a pile of numbers’.
