Actually, it's even worse. LLMs are designed to continue a string of characters such that it harder to tell whether or not the string came from the data set it was trained on. Every single letter the LLM outputs is produced with the sole purpose of deceiving whoever is reading it. Meaning, technically, all LLM does is lie - tell stuff that it does not believe is true (because it doesn't have beliefs at all), with the purpose of deception.
