That's almost it.
Paintings tend to have a common thing - a signature. So when the AI is asked to create a painting, it will often create a painting with one. Sometimes it will also create a frame because paintings tend to have frames too.
The "almost" part is that the AI likely knows the squiggle is a signature. Just like it knows what the subject of the painting is, or what the frames are.
