@gamejedi because the average person in society never consented to being the source for training data that will facilitate their replacement at the job that they rely on to survive, nor did they consent to being ruled over by artificial systems created by massive corporations that are a leviathan and are completely beyond reproach / accountability. The government is already corrupt and run by corporations and international billionaire cabals anyway, but at least these are people and they don't totally eclipse all of humanity (intelligence, surveillance, control of automated systems, building new systems, etc.) to the point where the rest of humanity itself could never fight back / even realize it is being controlled (which is what some skynet level AI system would be).
