What puzzles me (as a definite non-AI-expert) is why you'd programme a chatbot in a way that allows/encourages it to fabricate citations and to make things up rather than citing real existing online sources...?? 😱 (My inner librarian is horrified) Is this just an unintended consequence of the way it's programmed to simulate conversation...?
