@olivercharles2930 before using billions of samples to train these ai models ,did they pay the authors? or ask for the permission at least? not to mention all they do is basically grab a few of the best matching artworks and sticking them together, creating another Frankenstein's monster. now I'm sure as hell I can't beat some sense into someone's brain if they don't understand what's the main problem here first. we're not upset about the fact that ai can create better art in some cases, the red flag here is that these ai models use OUR work without any rights to do so. just because something is publicly available it doesn't mean that it can be used for whatever you want. imagine if I took a selfie you just uploaded on social media, and used it to generate a random picture of a person that looks just like you, but technically, it isn't you, because it was "generated" and melted together with someone else's face. how would you react in this case? if someone wants ai, they can draw thousands of digital artworks and use them for anything. I don't see a problem with that.
