You’re missing the part where it’s absolutely insane that him hitting the accelerator didn’t automatically shut off the autopilot. The autopilot just let him set a higher speed and then “kept driving for him”.
For gods sake even cruise control doesn’t just automatically adjust to you flooring it for a few seconds. It always defaults back down to the actual set speed…
