KJG wasn't opposed to AI, he saw it as just another form of art, even if he was very much going to stick with his traditional works. I think that the model itself is a good tribute in that it really highlights how utterly irreplaceable the man was. Even with our best technology we could not do what he did again now that he's gone. There's meaning in that. And I did see people who only learned about him due to the model, so it even spread the word about him too. I cannot fault the creator at all.
