Just to clarify: I’m not making bold claims about AI’s future, I’m challenging your argument’s framing.
The video leans on faith in historical patterns (“we’ve seen this before”), but the type and scale of AI disruption is unprecedented.
Narrow AI is already replacing cognitive labor, and it’s scaling exponentially.
Comparing this to the internet or electricity only works if the economic consequences are the same, but they’re not.
We risk sleepwalking into a future where 90% of people are economically irrelevant, not because they didn’t adapt, but because they were never given a chance to.
