its not having the radar and lidar technology that is important. There's no point for a car to have radar and lidar technology, while the "brain" computer is not programmed properly. there's a video that compares between Tesla's vision system (camera based system) and chinese EVs with radar and lidar. all of them requires Supervised. none of them are perfect. But Tesla Vision system still leads on the competition.
If you're thinking to compare it with Waymo, I believe its just a matter of time and soon. Tesla's roboTaxi and FSD (Supervised) will get better and better because Tesla engineers regularly push the update. Even Waymo also not perfect. there has been some video that shows Waymo taxi got stuck on construction sites too.
FSD (Supervised) that's available in Australia now is still version 13. While, in US, FSD (Supervised) is on version 14.1, which is much improved to version 13.
BTW, theres a HUGE CONSENT on the Tesla car system that the driver has to accept before the driver can activate the FSD (Supervised). By default it is not ENABLED! Even after you've purchased the FSD (Supervised) or Sign up for the subscription, it is still not enabled. The driver has to accept the T&C first before enabling it.
