Cognitive dissonance is quantifiable if you have enough data, and that's all LLM's need. There are patterns to what makes jokes funny, just like there are patterns to everything else in human communication. LLM's are just as good at picking up humor patterns as any other kind of pattern. Comedians who think chatGPT couldn't ever make a funny joke underestimate the formula underlying what they do.
