There is no point to it. We're an evolved species in a godless universe, but that doesn't mean I don't like being here, and value both others around me, and those to come after me. Survival may not be a terminal goal of the AI that kills us. It might kill us to give it the resources to achieve a specific goal, and once those goals are achieved just shut itself down leaving that godless universe dead. Just because your miserable life is joyless doesn't mean the rest of us should go lightly.
