I'd like to see UBI rolled out in America, we have no jobs anymore, just mass unemployment and poverty galore. I say give everyone $400 month. The lazies will sit at home, and those of us who actually want to work hard will have more bargaining power with employers, and ultimately better incomes and benefits.
UBI would cause more money to change hands, in effect creating more jobs, as well as new businesses.
In America, less than 10% of the population holds over 90% of all wealth. Our jobs are routinely replaced by foreign workers, automation, AI, and machines. You just don't need a human to do certain jobs today either.
