i think you are victim of missinformation, AI is not only used to generate funny images or videos, is used in robotics too, for example amazon have 2 types of AI that do different jobs, mostly moving boxes in the warehouse and logistics, while does jobs where use to be done by humans, since they have started to implement robots they have cut on 50% of employees. AI is also being used to replace phone agency since is pretty good at giving information and answer questions.
I still don't think people should be panicking even if AI replace 99% of workers
