@DanLing-s3e I see humans as the sum of our parts, a product of our circumstances and the end result of our experiences to date. The experiences of most Westerners, for example, lead to vastly different incentive structures than those of someone with out all the first world "problems" Westerners (and others in developed societies) tend to think they have. It's a fundamental detail that I think explains the modern world, but that doesn't even occur to most people in relatively privileged conditions. I say this as a third world country native with decent observational skills and internet access. People are staggeringly different, in my opinion at least. Which is why I'm just not convinced a sentient AI will get all of us. We are more complex than most of us understand, much less the sweaty nerds or ill intentioned despotic CEOs trying to build "AGI" But what do I know. ;)
