Most of it relies on cloud based computations using large data sets and proprietary AI learning, so it's more a service than an app and the police have to connect to their servers to use it every time they want a face processed. So it will be very easily traced if this happens. And more importantly, also incredibly easy to prevent by IP banning if they determine access was re-sold to police and choose to follow up on the claim. It's not like the 1990's where you buy software and you just use it locally and no one can tell if you are or not. And all they have to do is have it in their ToS and they can legally deny access to police even if the police already paid someone to use it.
