@antro102 not for long, think about this, if we get a commission for an oil painting that’s about a man on a horse. Normally we do is to hire a male model to do a similar pose, on top of a bike maybe, and we also need to have a picture of a horse that highly resembles what we want, and then we put them together for a basic drawing. After having the drawing then we add oil paint on top, but the process of getting that very drawing is not actually about imagination and creativity, why? Because most of us will picture it as a side view of a man riding a horse, because most of the paintings about this scene is just like that, and we are influenced by those paintings, this is exactly how AI being trained. So being creative and having imagination will be not to picture it as a side view, but rather we are seeing a man riding a horse at the bottom, so the painting is just a horse’s stomach and the soles of the rider’s boot 😂 So this process can be done by AI, and maybe use a printer to print this AI image on top of a canvas, then paint oil on top to a point where nobody can see the printed image, now we have brush strokes and muddy colors perhaps, and so nobody can tell AI even involved with the making of this painting. What will this impact the art community? The needs of this type of professional models are decreased, the value of artwork is reduced perhaps? Don’t forget AI not just can generate realistic images but also Picasso alike images. The worst case scenario is art making becomes “paint by numbers” in Walmart, everyone can do it over an AI generated image.
