Completely agree. People are trading off way too many things they shouldn't for the sake of convenience. This is making everyone dumber (AI) and it's costing lives.
However, I think that names like "autopilot" and "full self driving" are misleading dumb people (ie: most people, who don't even bother to RTFM before misusing a feature) into trusting the tech way more than they should. I'm no freaking genius, but at least I bother to have a baseline understanding of how a heavy machine I operate daily and on which my life (and the lives of others around me) depends on work, as well as what do do in it's most common failure modes and how to prevent them. Which is way more than the average driver does.
I'll be the first guy warning people that there's no way to completely foolproof things and we shouldn't be trying to design things around the stupidest tech users. However, marketing something that can do stupid dangerous things in a way that the average user will seriously misjudge it's limitations is beyond stupid.
