I have yet to see layoffs of SWEs at top tech companies with the explicit reason that "we are laying off these guys because AI made them redundant" lmao. Companies are laying off more than ever now because they know they can squeeze more out of employees since its an employers hiring market right now (for various reasons, interest rates, tariffs, etc being a few).
