I wish I could give them even that much credit. But let's also remember they own the AI. The companies are all investing in their own AI to drive up the value of their stocks. Amazon and Chat-GPT and OpenAI all own huge shares of Nvidia, whose chips power the AI that they develop, and Nvidia owns huge shares of the companies developing AI. The more they pay each other, the more motion in the markets. They can infinitely inflate the value of their stocks just by making a press release.
But when the money stops, the first ones to go will be the people who actually made all of the money for the company -- the workers. The AI is the excuse to use AI as an excuse for an infinite money glitch in the finance industry.
